About This Course

PsychoSocial Healing 1.0

This course had its first beginnings in 2016 as an evolution in the topics I covered in my ZDay talks as part of my social activism.  It was becoming obvious to me that a better world is technically possible, however the necessary social shifts require more in terms of psychotherapy than just education.  As a result I started covering topics such as self-esteem, motivation and helplessness, exploring the psycho-social damage of living under the current status quo and the psychological underpinnings of positive social change.

It became apparent that these topics were too vast to be covered adequately by 30 minute talks, so I began creating a course to cover all the necessary aspects of our "social therapy".

Then along came the COVID19 pandemic.  While working full-time as an essential worker, I saw that people were going to need help coming out of this pandemic.  I figured I would have time so I began fleshing out a smaller course specifically targeting the issues that society will be dealing with most.  Originally called "The Pandemic Escape Kit", now nearly 5 years on, the scope of the course has widened.

I am so, so excited about sharing with you what has been years and years of study, action, growing from adversity, psychotherapy and inner work, distilled down to 5 chapters with exercises at the end for you to internalise the lessons learnt.

PSYCHOSOCIAL HEALING 0.5

This is the free abridged version of the course that will be livestreamed from our Facebook Group each Sunday @ 7pm GMT between January 19th and February 16th 2025

1- Our Social Nature 2- Anxiety 3- Stress 4- Trauma 5- Self-Esteem

Chapter 1 is Our Social Nature

Here, we address our deeply hardwired social nature, the characteristics and pitfalls of being a highly social species, and the impact of living in this kind of society.

Chapter 2 is Anxiety

One of our most insidious demons.  We will be simplifying and discussing the complex neuroscience behind Anxiety and discovering better ways of dealing with it, with help from an unusual source.

Chapter 3 is Stress

Without doubt one of the most corrosive and yet accepted states of being in the modern world.  We will explore the vast degree of destructive effect stress has on all biological and social systems, and discuss meaningful and evidence based tools of minimising stress.

Chapter 4 is Trauma

Here we’ll discuss how and why trauma hits us, and why sometimes we’re in it’s clutches before we are born.  We will develop new paradigms to healing damage, and growing into a better person.

And Chapter 5 is Self-Esteem

The state of how appropriate to life you feel and how deserving of happiness you judge yourself to be.  We will look at the effects of low or unhealthy self-esteem and what is necessary to build a sense of healthy self-esteem.
